  • Professional licensing and credentialing, such as licensing board disciplinary actions and investigations, and hospital staff privilege actions in Michigan and other states.

  • Medicare, Blue Cross, Medicaid, and other third-party payer audits, reimbursement advice, and departicipation actions.

  • Stark Law and other fraud-and-abuse and self-referral issues.

  • Establishing credentialing policies and practices for physician organizations and other entities engaged in credentialing.

  • Developing, implementing and updating compliance programs, and providing ongoing compliance advice.

  • Obtaining regulatory approvals and certifications in diverse areas such as Certificates of Need and CLIA certification.

  • Representing health professionals and organizations in OIG and other civil fraud investigations and cases, seizures under search warrant, grand jury inquiries and other criminal and quasi-criminal investigations and proceedings.

  • Antitrust compliance advice, and representing clients in antitrust enforcement actions.

  • HIPAA compliance, and defense of HIPAA investigations and enforcement actions.

  • Obtaining regulatory approvals for clients engaged in business in multiple states.

  • Employment law and personnel matters.

  • Representing providers, professionals and businesses in contract disputes such as payments, noncompetition agreements, and enforcement of other contract rights.

  • Facilitation/Mediation in civil litigation matters.

  • Government relations matters, such as lobbying and seeking changes in laws and regulations, testifying on behalf of clients in legislative and administrative proceedings, and negotiating with legislative, regulatory and enforcement officials.

  • Negotiating and drafting contracts between employee benefit plans and health care provider organizations.
